Paper Collaged Character Workshop at No 6 Ginger Beer Factory, Leek Staffordshire.

This is a fun, colourful workshop where you will learn how to create painted and printed papers that you will then turn into collaged characters. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, whether you are a an artist looking for new ways of working or a beginner wanting to learn a new skill.

What will you do?
You will be introduced to a range of painting and printing processes to create colourful, patterned and textured papers. Then you will be able to develop your own artwork using the materials you have created. All papers, paints and glue will be provided. There will be lots of support and advice to help you on your way. This is a playful full day course where you will develop your use of colour and collage. You'll get a tour of my studio and the opportunity to look through some of my art work to help you develop your own ideas.

Who will I be taught by?
You will be learning from me, Fiona Wilson, studio owner and print maker. I have been working with printmaking techniques and teaching for over 10 years both in my studio and at Staffordshire University and I love being able to pass on new skills and inspire others. My approach is friendly and relaxed and I believes everyone can be creative, its just a case of finding your style.

All materials are provided
I am more than happy for you to bring along you own art materials and art work as inspiration or to work from. I will have lots of paper, paint, pens and pencils for you to work with.

Who is this workshop suitable for?
This is an introductory course, so good for beginners or experts who are looking for new ways of working. My workshops are for adults - minimum age is 16 years old.

How many people will be on the course?
I only book 6 people on my collage workshop so that you have plenty of space to be creative in.

Refreshments
Tea, coffee and water will be provided. You will need to bring your own lunch. There are lots of places to buy lunch from in Leek, and I am happy to recommend places you can go to.

Where is Leek, Staffordshire?
Leek is just on the border of the Staffordshire Moorlands and Derbyshire, just below Buxton. Its a vibrant market town with lots of independent shops, including a chocolatiers, an artisan bakery and some fab antique shops. There is no train station though, the nearest train station is Macclesfield and there are buses from there to Leek. If you fancy making a weekend of it - there is a Premier Inn in Leek and a wide variety of pubs and drinking holes! There is a car park just on the road where the studio is based and free on street parking on and around Leonard Street. Once you have booked your place - I will be in touch with more details for the day.

Cancellations - You can cancel your place up to 4 weeks before hand and you will be refunded, after that refunds can not be made unless your place can be filled.
